The ingredients for date cake:

  • 75 gram light brown caster sugar;
  • 50 gram walnuts; in pieces
  • 20 gram honey;
  • 20 gram grated coconut;
  • 110 gram unsalted butter; melted
  • 250 gram dates; in pieces
  • 1 egg;
  • 80 gram biscuits; in pieces

How to make date cake?

  1. Slowly melt the light brown caster sugar and the unsalted butter in a pan. Note: Make sure you only melt the light brown caster sugar and the unsalted butter don't let it go too fast.
  2. Slowly add the date bit by bit while whisking until you have a smooth mixture.
  3. Slowly add the walnut, the honey and the biscuit bit by bit while whisking until you have a smooth mixture.
  4. Slowly add bit by bit while whisking until you have a smooth mixture.
  5. Pour mixture of the light brown caster sugar, the walnut, the honey, the unsalted butter, the date, the egg and the biscuit in the cake mold.
  6. Sprinkle with the grated coconut for decoration.
  7. Keep in the fridge for at least 120 minutes. After this time it's ready to use.
