Gnocchi with bacon bits in creamy sauce

The ingredients for gnocchi with bacon bits in creamy sauce:

  • 1 kilo gnocchi;
    Note! Quantities below are for 4 portions.
    • 1 kilo potatoes; unpeeled
    • 2 egg yolks;
    • 50 gram Grana Padano; grated
    • 150 gram gluten free flour;
    • water;
  • 250 gram bacon bits;
  • 10 gram sage; only the leaves
  • 250 milliliter cooking cream;
  • 100 gram Grana Padano; grated

How to make gnocchi with bacon bits in creamy sauce?

  1. Prepare the gnocchi.
    1. Grab a new pan.
    2. Add the potato
    3. Boil for 45 minutes.
    4. Drain the potatoes.
    5. Let it cool down.
    6. Peel the potatoes.
    7. Mash the potatoes.
    8. Mix the potato, the egg yolk and the Grana Padano.
    9. Add the gluten free flour bit by bit while kneading until you get a good elastic texture. You might need a bit more gluten free flour or a bit less.
    10. Divide the mixture into separate portions and roll into rolls 1.5cm thick. Cut each roll into 1.5cm long pieces and roll them over the outside of a fork to create a nice pattern on the little cushions you've created.
    11. Your result is ready for further use.
  2. Boil the gnocchi for 2 minutes.
  3. Drain the gnocchi.
  4. Preheat the oven at 200°C.
  5. Grab a new pan.
  6. Fru the bacon bits until they are crispy.
  7. Add the sage and the cooking cream
  8. Let it boil for 10 minutes.
  9. Create one layer of the gnocchi in a baking dish
  10. Add the bacon bits, the sage and the cooking cream
  11. Add a layer of Grana Padano.
  12. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes.
  13. Your dish is ready, enjoy!
